The manufacture process of the electrical contacts materials

2021-09-14
Since the materials used for vacuum contacts are binary and above alloy materials, and the main elements are required to have pseudo alloy characteristics, powder metallurgy and vacuum (controllable atmosphere) melting are adopted in the production and manufacturing process.

Electrical contacts Infiltration method
Infiltration method is a common method to produce refractory metal and low melting point metal pseudoalloy. The high melting point metal powder is pressed and pre sintered (or powder sintered) to form a porous skeleton, and then the low melting point metal is placed above or below the skeleton. At a temperature higher than the melting point of the metal, it melts and infiltrates into the porous skeleton metal to fill the gap, so as to obtain a dense product.

Electrical contacts Mixed powder sintering
Powder mixing sintering process is a conventional powder metallurgy production process, that is, powder mixing / pressing / sintering process. It is widely used in the production of ceramics and cemented carbide. It is a well-developed metallurgical method. According to the different sintering temperature, it can be divided into solid-phase sintering and liquid-phase sintering.

Electrical contacts Vacuum arc remelting
In the slag free and low pressure environment or inert atmosphere, the consumable electrode melts rapidly under the high temperature of DC arc and re solidifies in the cold mold, so that the alloy can be refined in this high temperature melting process, so as to achieve the purpose of purifying, improving structure and improving performance.
